Post Grad: Now What?

My step by step plan has finally come to a bitter-sweet ending.

Gone are the days of knowing exactly what my next step is going to be, gone are the days of teachers and homework being a consistent part of my life. Gone are summer vacations (but come on, when’s the last summer I didn’t work or intern?). Gone are the days of my days consisting of classrooms while my nights I was able to make income.

Here are the days where my job is my day-to-day routine. Here are the days where summer break does not exsit, but rather vacation and sick days are handed out to help you keep your sanity. Here are the days of being paid to do what you love.

So, what’s next? Good question… glad you asked! I wish I had the answer. For the time being, I’m staying busy with interviews, job applications, search committee meetings, working, packing, blogging, reading and working on being the best me I can be.

Ya know, I thought I would be sad that college was over. Don’t get me wrong, I will miss the heck out of athletic events, but I can still attend as a regular human… just not a student. I will miss seeing the Profs in the hallway that I’ve gotten to know so well over the years, but that’s why there are Happy Hours! I will miss walking around campus and thinking “damn I am so lucky to be a student at one of the most insanely gorgeous colleges in the world”, but I’ll always be a Horned Frog.

Moral of the story, folks… yes, a chapter in my life ended. Yes, I am unaware of the future. Yes, that excites me more than I can put into words.

Here’s to a prosperous life post grad!

  1. You can always go back and visit! I still walk around OU’s campus thinking MAN, this place is THE BEST! Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?!
